- Construction of Fueling Facility
CEI conducted various phases for the construction of a Broward County Transit (BCT) Ravenswood Operations and Maintenance Facility’s fueling system. The project proved to be challenging due to the client’s requirement to maintain fueling operations throughout the complete replacement of all the buildings on site, including the Fuel Island, Administration Building, Maintenance Building and Bus Wash. Building Information Modeling (BIM) was also a project requirement whereby all work was pre-checked in the site specific BIM model prepared for each phase by each Contractor. Additionally, the site was a known petroleum contaminated site where close-coordination with the GC, BCT and BCT’s Environmental Consultant. Our scope included the installation of temporary fueling facilities, including dispensers, valve pit, sumps and underground piping. We provided the installation of the new fueling facility, including dispensers, pumps, sumps, hose reels, day tanks and underground and aboveground fuel and lubrication piping at the Fuel Island. In addition, we installed new underground lubrication tanks and underground and aboveground lubrication piping, hose reels and appurtenances in the Maintenance Building. Also completed was the installation of new underground waste oil tank, diesel, gasoline and DEF tanks. Once all phases were completed, we demolished the temporary fueling facility.
