CEI responded to the fire at Miami International Airport’s Fueling Facility. CEI was tasked by MDAD and Allied to conduct the emergency response cleanup activities and restore the fueling operation by working closely with other key contractors. The company was designated by OSHA and MDAD to serve as the Health and Safety On-Scene Commander with OSHA and provide remediation and cleanup services.
As part of the Environmental Remediation Scope of Work CEI conducted excavation activities for installation of a new underground double-walled fuel lines, ranging from 12-inch to 30-inch in diameter. CEI also performed the remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater by removing the fuel-saturated soil (approximately 21,000 tons) for off-site disposal and skimming of free-floating product.
Also as part of the scope, the company designed, set-up, and conducted dewatering system for installation of the underground fuel piping system.
