CEI was tasked to prepare construction drawings for permitting, remove 14,700 square feet of 8-inch thick reinforced concrete, and backfill, compact, and resurface the excavation area upon removal of petroleum saturated soils and free floating product (FFP). CEI was also responsible for Quality Control (QC) oversight including concrete slump testing and preparation of concrete test cylinders, and personnel Health and Safety, including monitoring of hazardous vapors in the contaminated work zone. The excavation area was backfilled with approximately 1,600 tons of ASTM #57 rock to just above the exposed ground water table.
