CEI completed the restoration of Patton’s Pit. The 6.5 acre site is located approximately 40 miles west of Krome Avenue on Tamiami Trail (US-41) or 0.5 miles east of the Visitor Center on the north side of US-41 in the Big Cypress National Preserve. The Patton’s Pit site reclamation project entailed returning the site to natural grade by removing the surrounding fill, removing the non-native vegetation that was present on the fill pad, and removing the disposing of solid waste and debris.
