CEI was tasked with conducting storage tank compliance audits of seven aboveground/underground storage tank (AST/UST) petroleum storage systems at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) for the Broward County Aviation Department. The objective of the audits was to assist in BCAD’s preparations for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (FDEP) annual AST/UST compliance inspections. The objective was completed by visually inspecting system components for integrity, and by evaluating facility records and tank systems for compliance with Chapters 62-761 and 62-762 of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) governing USTs and ASTs respectively.
CEI was also tasked with conducting waste management compliance inspections of the BCAD’s East and West maintenance facilities located at the FLL on January 11, 2007. The objectives of these audits were to verify the facilities’ compliance with applicable state and federal rules governing the management, storage and disposal of regulated waste (hazardous waste and used oil) generated from routine facility operations, correct any deficiencies, and train BCAD employees to ensure continuing compliance.
