In 2015, CEI performed various improvements throughout the Orlando Airport Fuel Farm. The upgrades provided a more robust, reliable and safe working operation for the facility. The scope of work involved Design/Build and Construction Management including a new control building & control architecture. Site improvements and piping/mechanical changes were made, including additional monitoring capabilities and a fire protection system with optical flame recognition technology. This system integrated CCTV capability for operator monitoring and recording.
Other highlights of the project include a new first-responder loop road, a new EFSO system including all existing station locations and new stations in 3 strategic locations. Additional temperature and vibration sensors were installed on existing pumps, and control communication was extended from the existing building to the new building.
This multi-disciplinary project focused around our core jet fuel capabilities. Aside from the jet fuel scope, the project included a new 1600 sq. ft. turnkey operations building. The new operations building met ADA requirements with offices, control room, mechanical rooms, restrooms and storage space with electrical and controls functions. CEI’s team worked around the clock to ensure the project would be finished on time and on budget.
