CEI has been selected to partner with Hensel Phelps to furnish and install the aircraft fueling system for the First Phase of the South Terminal Complex construction project at the Orlando International Airport. This TY Lin designed fueling project is the beginning phase of a new expansion by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) to the existing Orlando International Airport. The new South Terminal will serve both international and domestic flights and will accommodate plane sizes from narrow body to super jumbo jets. The overall project will consist of a new Landside Terminal, an adjoining Airside Terminal with 16 gates, a 5,000 space Parking Garage, Site work/Infrastructure, and an associated Apron/Taxiway for the Airside. The new fuel system includes a 2 mile dual pipeline, with secondary containment, to get fuel to the new terminal and also the installation of a terminal distribution hydrant system with ~35 hydrant pits. Our crews and project management staff look forward to returning to the Orlando International Airport to accomplish this important initial phase for GOAA.
