In an effort to give back to the community this month, a handful of our employees spent two Saturday’s with the lovely people at the Miami Rescue Mission!
The mission has been serving the needy and homeless of South Florida since 1922 through their various locations in Broward and Miami-Dade. Donations such as clothing, furniture, cars, boats, and more are all welcome; whatever is not used in their centers ends up in their thrift stores in order to raise funds for their amazing programs. Their Bargain Barn is such a thrift store, and that is where our volunteers devoted their time.
Sorting and organizing the store was the first order of business! We worked to ensure orderliness in the aisles by removing unused hangers, assorting the clothes by category and color, and aiding with the displays. After, we put together bags full of hand-selected items that would be sent abroad to aid our global community. The staff was lovely, offering us Cuban coffee and soda to keep our spirits and energy up!
The Miami Rescue Mission is always looking for volunteers! You can sign up to volunteer here. If you wish to donate, below is a list of item they are currently in need of:
