CEI performed a much needed improvement to the City of Miami’s Douglas Park. As part of the City of Miami’s attempt to decontaminate several parks, CEI aided the city in reviving a park that has been closed since 2013. The improvement provides a much safer park for the community and a cleaner atmosphere for the residents. The scope of work involved Design/Build and Construction Management including the removal of up to a foot of topsoil, installing a waterproof sheet liner and then refilling the area with clean soil. In addition to the remediation of the site, the drainage system was rebuilt to include six new gravity wells, a new irrigation system for the ball field, the parking lot was repaved, a walkway was added and new lights overseeing the walkways and parking lots were also added.
